Oregon Camping Trip

This was our only camping trip this summer. And of course it was 3 days after getting back from Utah so it was exhausting. We went with Bill & Freda (James' Great Aunt) to Silverton Oregon. It was at an RV park with their Forrester's Group. Which means toilets and showers. (Which is always a good thing)

They had alot of games and crafts for the kids to keep busy with and the adults had organized games as well. I actually played  in a Washer's tournament and won 3rd Place and $10! Not bad for never playing before. At night the camp played BINGO...and between all of us, kids included, we won at least $10. Watch out Muckleshoot here come the Twiddy's. (Just Kidding)
Below are the pictures from the pinata the kids had a whack at.

Bill and Freda bring the popcorn machine every year and man that all day long.
Hopefully next summer we'll have time for more camping trips. It was hard to plan a campout with at least 2 weddings every month.

Utah Trip July 22-25

We took our longest trip in the van ever this weekend. We spent 15 hours driving all night to go to Utah for 2 days for Cassey and Sage's wedding and then spent another 15 hours driving home. We had fun though and was totally worth the trip. The boys slept all night which gave James and I a chance to talk and reminiscence and be a little goofy. (Lack of sleep makes everything either really funny or really annoying) We got to our hotel cleaned up and rested before heading out to Temple Square. Friday would be our only chance to do the touristy stuff, and it gave the boys some running around time. I think we set a new record for a self guided tour. But they enjoyed it. I wasn't shy about asking people to take pictures for us. So I can't complain if they didn't turn out the way I wanted them too.
The family in front of the reflection pool.
The boys.
A fast paced tour through Temple Square means. 1-Pictures of family taken with Conference Center on the go. 2- Mom gets to walk slower and take in the beauty of the flowers and the Salt Lake City Temple. 3-Get in the Air Conditioner as fast as you can.
Quick walk to Visitor Center
of course My kids run up the ramp to the Statue of Christ.
I wanted something good to come of this quick tour, so I purposely sat here and
waited for the presentation to start.
Breathe.
The weather was beautiful, but hot, so we had a race to the van to get the A/C going. James and Logan won, while I stayed behind with Pokey.

Quote from the whole trip:
At 10 O'clock at night
" It's sad when 85 degrees feels good."

Giant Slip & Slide!

Grampa Jim's neighbor knows how to throw together a great slip and slide! Logan went down once and didn't like it. He said he wanted the rain to stop.( He didn't like the sprinklers.)
I think this is LJ..I was just trying to capture the hill and slide for perspective.

I've added a video so you can see how fast the kids were going down the hill. It looked like fun.

Congratulations Kayla & Jeff!!

Helping Grampa Mow the Lawn

One of the boys' favorite things this summer was helping Grampa Jim mow his lawn.
LJ and Grampa Jim

Of course it took Grampa longer than usual to mow, but he didn't
mind spending the time with his boys.
