Christmas 2007 (The Event)

Cooper couldn't wait to see Santa...then it was our turn and he wanted nothing to do with him. Logan was a good sport. He had to check him out before he let me put him on his lap.

Christmas morning was fun this year, Cooper was really into opening his presents and of course helping Logan. It seems that Santa had to bring Cooper a total of 11 new Disney Cars. As if he didn't get enough last year.
You can't see it,but Cooper's shirt says " I don't need Mistletoe" and if you really know Cooper you know that's the truth. Logan's shirt says " Santa's little Helper" Cooper really enjoyed unwrapping presents. He helped distribute the gifts at Grama Jeannene's house, and if you weren't paying attention, he would unwrap them for you. The present in the picture was for Logan...he didn't mind the help. He really enjoyed dancing with Scooby Doo!

Happy 1st Birthday Logan!!

Logan celebrated his 1st birthday on Dec. 15th. We thought it would be easier to celebbrate the weekend before. He was so tired and mellow at his party. He didn't touch his cupcake. Later, we realized that not only was he tired but he had cut a new tooth. We had a real simple party with cupcakes, icecream, & juice. We were very glad that the Monson's, Butcher's, and the Highfield's came to celebrate with us. Of course, both of his grandma's were there.

This picture was taken today, December 24. This last year sure has flown by really fast, and he's getting so big...but he's still my little man.

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas everyone. Please take the time to look at our blog and see what we've been up to this year. Also, be sure to bookmark this page and check back periodically...I'm hoping that I won't have to update a whole year in one week ever again. However, it was fun remembering the fun we've had. We pray that you'll feel our Heavenly Father's love this Christmas and throughout the New Year.
Love Always, James, Sunny, Cooper & Logan Twiddy

Cooper's 1st Day of School & Subsequent Artwork

October 3rd, 2007 Cooper Michael started Pre-School! He attends the morning class at Gildo Rey Elementary, his teacher is Miss Laurie. Cooper qualified into the ChildFind program in the Auburn School District. This means that he will meet with a speech therapist, & Occupational therapist (fine & gross motor skills) one on one, as well as have the much needed social interaction with kids his age. It's only been 2 months and we've seen great improvements with his talking. I so thankful for this program, I was at a loss as what to do about his vocabulary.
About 3 weeks into school Cooper wanted to ride the bus. I thought it was a little bit ridiculous, as we live right across the street from the school. So every morning he is the first one on the bus, and 1/2 hour later arrives at school. He is the first one off the bus after school. He is so cute on the bus. He sits in the same seat everyday, and always says "Bye, Mama!" Okay I'll admit, the first time he left on the bus I got teary...where does the time go?

This is some early artwork that Cooper has brought home.
What am I to do with all these masterpieces?

Day Campin' on Labor Day

On Labor Day we packed up the kids in the car and headed off to visit Grampa Dave & Grama Pam, Dustin, Cole, & Lexie at Belfair State Park. We thought it might be fun to take the ferry since it was a beautiful day, and the boys have never been on a boat. Cooper loved it from the beginning waiting on the dock for the ferry. Once on the boat he truly got his exercise, he was running everywhere! Logan seemed to enjoy himself too.

Once we arrived in Belfair, we changed Cooper into sandals and shorts so he could wade in the water and throw rocks. Grama Pam and Cooper played in the water and also went on the swing. Logan chilled in the shade with Grampa Dave. Later, Grama, Cooper and I took a walk and found a little beach where we could throw more rocks in...but we had to leave because the tide was coming in and was covering the trail back to the campground. We stayed for dinner and cleanup and headed home. We had alot of fun that day as a family and we were all very tired.

Summer Fun

Logan really loved swimming. We would go over to Jeremy & Jehana's house and play in the pool when it got unbearable.

At night I would put the ulgy orange blanket down on the porch, turn off the lights and let the boys cool off. No worries, Cooper has a diaper on he wasn't in the buff.

In August, Grama Jeannene invited us to the Sysco Picnic at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. Cooper surprised us all when he wanted to go on all the rides...including the scrambler! It was a fun day. We played some carnival games and won all the ridiculous prizes, ate cotton candy, elephant ears, corn dogs, and had a delicious Bar-B-Que from the Longhorns for lunch, all for free! Logan even stayed still for a snake tattoo on his ankle....Cooper wouldn't sit still, He wanted to keep riding the train that went around the park.

James celebrated his 31st Birthday this year at his favorite restuarant, Jimmy Mac's. It was great to be able to leave the kids with Grama Pam and enjoy and evening out with the Butcher's, Smith's, and the Highfields.

Fun In the Sun

Summertime was loads of fun this year. We didn't do any traveling this summer, but we did find ways to beat the heat and enjoy the beautiful weather. We had cousins at our house everyday. Camryn and Cooper had a blast at the waterpark. What you don't see in this picture is James trying really hard not to get wet. I tried to stay in the shade as much as possible with Logan and Zada.

Cooper got a new bike for his birthday. This is his first bike ride. We even bought a special Disney Cars Helmet, knee & elbow pads. He didn't care much for the safety features at first, but we were insistant and he gave in.
On the 4th of July we went to the Auburn 4th of July festival...it was one of the hottest days of the summer, but we had fun. We saw birds, farm animals, but Cooper's favorite was meeting his new friend, DOZER. They were the same size.
Here we are...The Twiddy Family...This was the pre-sunburn picture...you think I would have put sunscreen on myself after caking it on my children...oh no...that would be too easy.
Little 6 1/2 month old Logan sporting his carefree, heart-melting smile and his Baby's first 4th bib. He really is the sweetest, happiest baby...He really loves the outdoors..He spent alot of time outside this summer laying on the ulgy orange blanket. He loved staring at the sky and feeling the grass between his toes.

April Trip to Montana

In April we took our first family vacation to Montana. We decided to take our time, and make as many stops as possible. It took us a whopping 5 hours to cross Washington, I think that's a new slow record for us. We stayed our first night in Spokane, and visited with the Spokane Clan. When we were almost to Swan Lake, MT it started to snow, it was so beautiful. We had great time visiting Great-Grama Geri, This was her first time meeting Logan. Cooper had a blast looking for fish off the pier, and throwing rocks in the glass-like lake & of course getting his shoes wet, which abruptly ended our walk.

Cooper & James loving the snow, but it was sure cold...the next day it was beautiful!!! Our next stop was Cascade, MT to visit Uncle John & Aunt Sandy. It was a nice visit and I'm glad we stopped, as Uncle John passed away this summer. We stayed the night at Sandy's beautiful house, and went to Helena the next day to visit JD, Heidi, & Ruby. Ruby & Logan had a great time getting to know each other and Cooper had a blast terrorizing their poor dog. That evening we went to Great Falls, and stayed with Uncle Mike & Aunt Vicky. They sure had fun with the boys and the visit was awesome. We decided to stay a full day in Great Falls and make it all about Cooper...he was such a good boy in the car...he needed time to stretch his legs and have a fun day....so we filled it in with all the goodies I remembered as a kid...
We lucked out and were able to go to Gibson Park and feed the geece and ducks. Cooper was in heaven. He ran up and down the sidewalk chasing the poor animals, and yelling "Eat! Eat!" He also climbed the toys and went down the slide. I don't know who had more fun that day Cooper or Uncle Mike!
It was on to Giant Springs to feed the fish. Of Course Cooper had so much fun! He would yell, "Mommy, Fishy, eat!" We went to the giant slide in Black Eagle, and I had fun there...so many memories of this place. I had fun because being the competitive Momma that I am, had the fast kid there. There was a little boy just flying down the slide, and Cooper was going but I felt he needed to keep up with the little boy, sooo I put down Logan's fleece blanket, put Cooper on and well, thankfully James stood in the middle of the slide, Cooper flew down the slide, and at the mid-point hit a bump and caught a little air. James was there to make sure he didn't fly off the slide...soo Fun! Cooper just kept walking back up the stairs saying " more more! again! " I was grateful that I was able to take James, Cooper & Logan (even though he was asleep most to the day) to places of my happiest childhood memories. We decided to take a break for lunch of course to Taco Treat. We took a half an hour at the cemetary to paint Aimee's headstone and clean it up. The highlight of the day for Cooper was our last stop......

Uncle Mike had arranged for us to go and ride the horses. They sold the horses, but Mike knew the owners and had stopped by a few weeks before we came and asked if it would be okay for him to come give Cooper a ride. They were very friendly. When we told Cooper that we were going to ride the horses he got so excited, that he frightened the horses just a bit, Mike calmed down Sage and saddled him up...meanwhile, Cooper was freaking out because he thought that he couldn't ride them...Once he sat on Sage, Cooper was calm and had the biggest smile on his face..he loved it! He had so much fun that day. He was worn out. We went home and had a great dinner, and Cooper literally Crashed on the floor watching TV! It was so much fun! We didn't want our time in Montana to end. James loved it too, He loved the openess, the wildlife, and the slow pace. We considered moving there....which happens everytime I go there...but we know that we needed to be here, close to grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins....maybe someday we'll move, but until then we'll just consider it our little patch of heaven on earth to visit.
