Watch out for the Budgies!

Our zoo added a new exhibit last May, The Budgies. Cute little Austrailian Birds, that for just $1 a stick you can feed them.
The boys LOVED THIS! I thought it was alot of fun as well.
Logan was concentrating very hard to stay still for the Budgie.
Doesn't it look like he's holding it?
Cooper was cautious, at first. Once I showed him what to do he stayed real still and at one point he had 2 budgies on his stick.
Jocelyn wasn't quite sure about all the birds flapping around her, but after awhile she too had a great time.
I'm glad to have a favorite exhibit at the Point Defiance Zoo again, but I still miss the
Beluga whales.

Zoo day and the missing tooth

We went to the zoo today. The Beluga whale was gone. Sad day. These are the only pics I'm posting, because how many times do you really need to hear about the zoo?

The real story is the missing tooth. Cooper had yet another tooth loose. All day we kept checking it and telling him that if he pulled out his tooth we'd get an icecream cone. After dinner we went to check again...it was gone. "Cooper, where's your tooth?" Without missing a beat... " I ate it."
Icecream it is. Tooth fairy dismissed from duty.

ZOO Day!!!

On the 2nd day of Spring Break we decided to take a trip to the Zoo with
Grama Pam, Aunty Tia, Lexie and Camyrn. We had alot of fun. The boys loved spending time with their cousins
and especially Grama.
We tried to take pictures, but the kids were scattered this way and that. We did manage to get this picture all together, showing off shark teeth!
By the time we got to the Beluga whale Logan was tired.
But Cooper was still going!!!
Finally at the end of our Zoo visit,
Cooper stopped and relaxed for a couple of minutes.
And Logan got his second wind.
We had a great time at the zoo with our cousins! On our way to the van, we were given a show from 2 peacocks, we were so close we could almost touch them. And yes, Cooper tried.

Zoo Pals

We picked a very beautiful day to go to the zoo! The sun was shining but it was still a little chilly. Yesterday there was a monkey on the loose at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, and they had to evacuate the entire zoo, for one little monkey. We go to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, and let me tell you, I was chasing 3 or more little monkeys around and at a few momentsI wanted to evacuate. It was sure fun though. Cooper and Logan were able to run play, look at the animals, and have a picnic with Nick, William, Hailey, Taylor, and Wendy. That's right 7 kiddos 5 years old and under. The older boys were very well behaved and even had maps to direct us on what we were to see next. I also didn't bring my camera, I remembered everything else though. Thanks J. for taking all the pictures and sending them to me. It was kinda liberating not to take pictures for a change, I was able to run and play with the kids more.
This was Logan's first trip to the zoo, during the day, as we went to zoolights at night last month. He loved it. He didn't want to stay in the stroller so I hooked him up this his doggy backpack and let him explore on foot. He would stick his nose right up to the glass peering at the 'mamimals'. At one point I had three 2 year olds on leashes, it felt like they were walking me.
As always the aquarium is the highlight of our zoo trips. Here's a rare shot of ALL the boys together in the same spot. It wasn't very crowded in the aquarium, so we let them loose and let them wander, within sight of Mommy was the rule.
After our visit to the fishy's and the sharks, we sat and had a nice picnic lunch. Then it was back in the stroller for the little ones, the rest of the zoo was going to go faster, as nap time was approaching. Thanks D. for letting us the double stroller.
It was a fun day. We always have so much fun with our friends and look forward to our next zoo adventure together.
Here are a few of the animals we saw on our visit.
I got these pictures off the zoo website http://www.pdza.org
