Today our little family went to the Build-A-Bear Workshop to do a service project with the Forresters group that Aunt Freda belongs to. Saturday the Forrester's volunteers (and us) built a total of 600 teddy bears, 500 of which will go to children at Seattle's Childrens Hospital. The children (15 and under) who came to help were able to take home a bear or rabbit of their own. Here's a picture of them waiting for us to get started.
Our family made a total of 6 bears. We watched as the ladies would manuever the empty bear/rabbit while the boys took turns stepping on the pedal that stuffed them. Logan was amazed at the stuffing maching. He probably sat for 5 or more minutes before his turn just watching it.

They had a little "wash and brush" station, before we dress the animals in an outfit.
Here's a picture of the Bear's & Rabbits we made. Cooper is giving them all big hugs before we put them in the boxes for the sick children.
Cooper kept the Rabbit in the baseball outfit. We went to the naming station to print birth certificates for the boys' new animals. Logan kept the bear and his name is Sam. Cooper's Rabbit's name is Aaron Hippity Hop.

We had to wait a little for daddy and the boys went out into the mall, and I couldn't help but take this picture of them being so cute and so behaved.
As a Thank you we received food voucher's for lunch. Here' our whole group at Red Robin. Once again Aunty Freda provided a fun event for our little family. And it felt really good to do good.

How fun! It's great that they were able to help and get to keep something.
What a fun experience! A couple of years ago, Rachel went to Build a Bear for her birthday and chose the bunny, too! I love it--it's the softest, cutest animal there!!! Good choice! :)
Such a fun, memorable and special outing!!!! That is great, and those children (well any child) for that matter will just LOVE those special build a bears they are the best, what a fun act of serivce!
