Stormy Snow!

We have only been in our new house for 3 days now and so far we've had power for half of the time.I'm glad we didn't have to move in this. My dad came to our rescue and brought us to his house so we could get warm. So what did the boys want to do??? Yep. Play in the cold snow.

Logan loved making snow angels. Both the boys loved having a snow ball fight.
Cooper is in there somewhere I promise.
Later, we went to Grampa Jim and Grama Nina's house...which is right down the road from our new place.
They have the best hill for sledding. It was a bigger hill than the one at the apartment which made it more fun for Cooper, but Logan wanted to only do half the hill.

Do I sense a spark of Competion?

Editors note: I've added a picture of their first attempt to break the record.
In our apartment complex, we are lucky to have a set of missionaries from our church. We've lived here now for 3 yrs. and in that time we've only had two snow storms that we were able to actually build snowmen. In January of 2007 our missionary neighbors built this huge snowman.

With that said, our current missionaries set out to build one as well. Needless to say their first attempt didn't quite measure up. I had to bring out pictures to show them the possibilities. With supreme determination they embarked on a new quest...to break the record as it was, and prove THEY WERE THE BEST!

As you can see from the pictures, they proved themselves beyond what I thought possible.

Making Memories and Giant So-man!

I don't know what it is about snow that brings out the child in us all. I love the snow! I love snowmen! I love the chance to play with my OWN little family in the snow. We've made so many good memories this week. James' schedule finally permitted us to go out as a whole family. He was loving it too! Cooper and James were able to go sledding together, and Logan was able to throw a snowball at his daddy. He was following James everywhere. Except anywhere near the GIANT SO-Man! It was the cutest thing in the world. Logan was afraid of the so-man, until Daddy held him tight right next to him.
After that Logan would go down the hill. Look how little he is next to this Montster!
This picture gives you an idea how tall the missionaries were able to get him.
Afterwards we went inside to warm up and have Hot Cocoa! A rare new treat the boys look forward to after a couple hours in the cold.

Winter Fun for Everyone!

I am so glad it finally snowed enough for me to let the boys go outside and play. This was Logan's first snow play day! We don't have a traditional sled so I used one of my laundry baskets. Logan wasn't sure at first, so I helped Cooper in and pushed him down our little hill outside our apartment. That was his first sled ride, and he wanted to do more. So he brought it up and got inside and I pushed him down again. Logan finally wanted a turn, and Cooper wanted to push him down the hill. What an awesome big bro! Little man was holding on tight.
But once he came to a stop, he was cheering for more!
Getting around in the snow is still new for LJ. He looked at me, and said, stuck. help. Cooper saw the neighbor kids doing snow angels and thought he'd give it a try. After several attempts on his back, he decided he wanted to do one on his tummy. I called a "Reverse Angel".
I didn't see him try that one again, he prefers his back..duh.
The Missionaries in our complex were having a snowball fight, and the boys got involved.
It looks like LJ was more interested in holding the snow and examining the new found fun close up.Logan slipped and caught himself before hitting his head, but was stuck and the Elder just sat there and looked at him.
Logan was even trying to push a snowball for the "noman". Cooper helped Taylor with his snowman.
